REIMAGINE NEWSLETTER: ISSUE 35
SOLVING A PROBLEM FOR A WORLD LEADING SOLUTION.
Dear Reimaginer,
We hope you’ve enjoyed an excellently restful summer, and wish you all the best for the upcoming academic year. Recognising the fact that much of the academic community is now returning from the vacation, we’ve decided to extend the Awards deadline! Those wishing to submit their work for this year’s competition now have until Sunday 15th September at 23:59 GMT to join the Awards – so there’s still one full month to apply. Whether you’re early-stage or mature, from an academic or institution or edtech company, working with VR or online learning programs or pioneering new presence learning formats: we’d love to hear from you.
The other participation opportunities we have available – speaking at the Reimagine Education Conference, running a workshop, or judging this year’s submissions – will remain open until Sunday 1st September 2019. We’re still inviting speaker proposals from those whose work involves:
- Blockchain and educational innovation;
- Cultivating innovation cultures across Higher Education Institutions;
- Nurturing student entrepreneurship, and any proposals pertaining to the skills gap;
- Alternative pathways from education into employment;
- Neuroscience and education.
Those wishing to submit a proposal pertaining to these topics can do so here.
If you’d like to find out what we’ve got in store at this year’s conference – speakers from Harvard and MIT, expert-led interactive sessions, and carefully-curated one-to-one sessions connecting investors with edtech startups – our partners over at Education Technology have previewed the event. Discover more about the 2019 program – and read a wealth of insight and information about the edtech sector – over at the Education Technology website.
Beyond this, we have one contribution and one partnership announcement this week. Over at the EdTech Podcast, Sophie Bailey has been shifting the focus onto higher education leadership. Joined by a panel of university leaders from Harvard, Coventry University, Bournemouth University, and the University of London, she explores how to develop the team that delivers change in the context of institutional capability and leadership development for the “21st Century University”. It’s another wonderful episode, and you can listen in full here.
You’ll be able to meet Sophie at the 2019 Reimagine Education Conference, too – along with over 100 of our shortlisted applicants, who’ll be presenting their work, and the international community of passionate educators we’re bringing together. If you’d like to join us, there’s still time to get your Early Bird ticket by visiting https://www.reimagine-education.com/register-as-delegate/ and entering the promo code London2019.
Finally, we’re delighted that the list of universities deciding to support our initiative continues to grow. The latest institution to jump on board is Sumy State University from Ukraine, who are intensifying their efforts to provide outstanding research and learning to those in their national and regional ecosystems. Learn more about them over at their website.
We have a bumper edition of the newsletter on its way for the end of August, with half a dozen contributions from Reimagine applicants in the works. Join them in bringing your work to an international audience by emailing me at jack@qs.com. In the meantime, I wish you all the best of luck with your application, and look forward to the latest cornucopia of teaching and learning innovation.
Anyone who wishes to submit an article on their work, research, product, or paper for our newsletter is, as ever, welcome to contact jack@qs.com with an 100-word summary of their proposed topic. Until then – keep innovating!
Regards,
Jack Moran
